Although this isn’t an actual picture of Charlie, he approves of the misbehavior that occurred to procure this photo. Merry Christmas Eve!
I want to send a big shout-out and thank you to the Lululemon Portland Showroom for hosting an amazing Pre-Christmas fitness event, The Twelve Days of Fitness! I have long been a fan of Lululemon’s apparel, but it wasn’t until I moved up to Portland, Maine and started following the Lululemon gals all over the city for their 12 Days Of Fitness event that I realized what a fabulous commitment they have to fitness and their community. Each day, for the 12 days leading up to Christmas, they are partnering with all different types of studios around the Portland area for classes ranging from yoga, to spinning, to bar sculpt and the craziest yet the Ultimate Workout at The Bay Club which quite literally kicked my backside (I think I might have actually kicked my own backside at one point… but give me a break I haven’t jumped rope since the third grade).
On this ninth day of fitness I was treated to one of the best yoga classes I’ve ever taken. Not only was the class an amazing session of power yoga that left me stretched and strengthened, but it was also the studio’s inaugural class! The fantastic instructor was the owner Terry Cockburn and her new studio is Freeport Yoga Company. Thanks Terry for an amazing class and congratulations again on your new studio.
Now, I would be remiss if I didn’t add a bit of holiday shopping advice to all you readers out there that have loved ones on your holiday shopping list that are fitness fanatics, devoted yogis or even just love cruising around town in super stylish attire that will allow them to break out into a sprint or a few jumping jacks when the mood strikes. Below I have assembled my dream Lululemon gift package.
Because I’m girlie and I love pink… the brighter the better!
Classic gray long sleeve running top, perfect for layering in the winter.
A perfect compliment to the Long Sleeve Tee. I absolutely love any top that has thumb holes, but really… who wouldn’t!
The former ballerina in me just adores this wrap. I think I even have a few worn out pairs of pointe shoes in the attic that I could wear with this.
Since I tend to not advocate the bottomless workout aesthetic, I’m opting for the classic black pant, a perfect compliment to any top.
Although it is most definitely not skirt or shorts weather up here in Maine, my heart just couldn’t pass up including this adorable skirt since I met the love of my life playing squash and he always tells me that he thought I looked adorable in my skirts while everyone else was playing in more standard gym attire. Hey… I can’t help it I was raised in a family that watched Wimbledon!
A must have for any gym goer that wants to be prepared. I can barely count how many times I shown up to the gym without a hair tie… not with this little guy!
Lastly I will need a place to store all my fitness goodies and why not look super fashionable while scooting to the gym and back. There is no reason not to blend fitness and fashion. Two of my favorite pass times.
I was window shopping at the amazingly huge and wonderful Maine Mall near Portland… sigh… that was a joke… it’s a small mall and a bit of a shock after Boston. Anyway I came across these adorable clutches in Express. They were just under $35.00, completely adorable and would be perfect for the holiday season’s cocktail parties. Adorable!
What girl doesn’t like sprinkles. Not this one! I am a huge fan of sprinkles… on ice cream, on cakes, on cookies… and most definitely in the form of a bakery in LA that makes amazing cupcakes. I’m heading out to LA tomorrow to visit one of my most fabulous friends. On our long list of things to pack into 2.5 days are a hike, a visit to the beach, a few birthday parties, general sightseeing… yes I’m a bit shameful to admit a viewing of “Breaking Dawn” and most importantly some Sprinkles cupcakes. Yay!
Just in case you wanted to laugh… here is my favorite picture of me and Kate. I’m sure we will take a few more wild ones this weekend. (BTW she is wearing a wig… since it’s Halloween… she doesn’t normally rock a fro).
I was perusing the Anthropologie’s website, as I am often known to do, and was having fun day dreaming in the furniture section when I came across this lovey:
It immediately reminded me of the gorgeous sofa from the second Sex and the City movie (one of the few redeeming parts of the movie). I know, I know the one in the movie is blue and the Anthropolgie one is brown… but come on…. it’s pretty darn close!
While I’m dreaming I might as well finish off the room, so here goes…. I’m always a sucker for a Saarinen coffee table. I think the white marble top version would go nicely with my chocolate sofa:
Available at Hive Modern
I’ve already broken the bank with the sofa and coffee table so I thought I’d take it back into this gal’s reality and finish off the seating with two side chairs and a a patterned ottoman from West Elm:
You can’t have a room without a rug. This pretty from Room and Board will add a nice amount of texture to the room without overwhelming the space.
You must, must, must have great lighting to make a room complete. I’ve been obsessed with the wares from South of Market in Atlanta ever since I was in design school. My hubby hates my obsession with glass lamps but my love for them will never waiver.
Every room needs some art and color. I’ve been slowly becoming more and more obsessed with yellow. There is no way I could pull off wearing this color so I’ve decided to start designing with it. I just now fell in love with this print from Mitchell+Gold.
Enjoy my Monday day dream everyone.
