A Good Host Gift

September 2, 2010

Have you been searching for that perfect gift to bring to the bachelor in your life?  Here’s one of my tried and true gifts that seems to always go over well for a new house/apartment warming gift and it only takes a few ingredients plus a fabulous bow.

Ingredient One: An airtight container from Crate and Barrel.

Oxo Airtight Containers

Ingredient Two: One kitchen hand towel from Anthropologie or Williams Sonoma.

Grand Place Towel

Williams Sonoma Logo Towels

Ingredient Three: Homemade chocolate chip cookies! (click on the picture or link to get the recipe).

Tollhouse Classic Chocolate Chip Cookies

Bake the cookies, tuck them away in the airtight container, fold up the new hand towel and place it on top of the container and then tie the whole thing up with a bow.  Trust me your effort will be very much appreciated.

I’ve received this nice little housewarming gift from Erin and even though the cookies mysteriously didn’t replace themselves, the towel and containers still are in good use!

I’m moving in a few weeks Erin, maybe you can bake me some cookies for my container! Just Email them to me.

I can’t believe I gave you a defective container that didn’t have the auto-refill feature working! As soon as I hear that you’re settled into your new place a batch of cookies are on there way :)
